What is GreenEarth® Cleaning?

GreenEarth cleaning is the most environmentally friendly dry cleaning process available today and it’s available in Omaha exclusively at Fashion Cleaners and Omaha Lace Cleaners.

The eco-friendly, gentle solution is made from one of the earth's safest and most abundant natural resources: silica, or sand. This is the same gentle, natural product used in many everyday shampoos, lotions and deodorants. GreenEarth® is also safe for the air, water and soil. The GreenEarth® Cleaning process is non-toxic and non-hazardous. When released into the environment, it safely breaks down into its three natural elements, sand (SiO2) and trace amounts of water and carbon dioxide.

With GreenEarth® cleaning, your whites will be even whiter, your brights will be even brighter and you’ll have absolutely no shrinkage. GreenEarth cleaning will actually improve the look and feel of your clothes because it doesn't interact with fabric fibers. It just carries the detergent to your clothes and gently carries away the dirt and oil. As a result, it's safe for even the most delicate garments including beads, delicate lace, silk and cashmere. Everything feels better too. Fabrics are smooth and silky, and sweaters feel soft and supple again. And what’s more, you’ll notice your clothes will come back fresh and clean without that unpleasant "dry cleaning" odor you will find with other dry cleaners.

Learn About Our Other Green Practices

Energy efficient equipment

We use energy efficient equipment that continuously recycles and purifies our cleaning solutions rather than dumping them into the environment. We also use an eco-friendly hot water tower recycler unit that saves heating energy and water.

Biodegradable poly bags
Fashion Cleaners uses biodegradable poly bags on all of its laundry orders. The Ecomax biodegradable bags have a shelf life of nine months before they start to degrade as long as they are kept away from sunlight. The total degradation process takes about 15 months after the initial nine-month period if kept in the presence of oxygen.

Hanger recycling
We recycle more than 3,600 hangers a week. All you have to do is bring your used hangers in when you drop off your order or leave them with your pick-up orders and we’ll prepare them for use again.
