Fashion Cleaners Tour Hugo Boss Plant
Kermit Engh, owner, joined 30 other drycleaners from American’s Best Cleaners on October 4th for a tour
of the 300,000-sq.-ft. plant where Hugo Boss, maker of fine men’s and women’s clothing, makes 80 percent of its men’s
suits for the U.S. market.
“It was amazing to see the phenomenal amount of equipment necessary in making Hugo Boss’s clothing,” says Engh. “It
is always worthwhile to stay abreast of how quality garments are made and bring information home that we can use when
preserving our customer’s garments.”
Engh truly appreciates the quality of the Boss machinery. Fashion Cleaners has also invested in state-of-the-art
finishing equipment in its own dry cleaning plant, because Engh recognizes that the sophisticated technology maximizes
his customers’ investments in their wardrobe.
America’s Best Cleaners (ABC) is a national certification organization that seeks the best cleaners in a market.
ABC sets up plant tours of upscale clothing manufacturers to reach out to manufacturers like Boss. ABC believes that
a better understanding of the manufacturing process will help a dry cleaner better understand how to care for even the
most cutting edge fashion.
Fashion Cleaners is the only drycleaner in Omaha that has been certified by America's Best Cleaners. The
certification process includes; inspection of the retail location and production facility as well as comprehensive
testing of the finished product conducted by the Hohenstein Institutes in Germany. The Hohenstein is considered the
foremost garment laboratories in the world.
